THE REVIEW
"The Unhoneymooners” is pretty much absolutely my favorite book of the summer.
End review!
Haha JK.
But in all seriousness, this book was just downright stinking cute and relatively clean (thank you for hearing my heart CLo!) For my second Christina Lauren book it definitely hit all the right marks for me.
Christina Lauren nailed (once again) the characterization of her leading characters. The stark difference between twins Olive and Ami felt very SNL sketch worthy for me. Just nothing seems to go right for Olive until what has the power to be her actual demise becomes her path to becoming the unlikely heroine.
I also loved the fact that it took place in both Maui and Minnesota — two places that I love. One is close to home and the other is a favorite vacation spot. It was so cool to be able to see references that I knew and loved in both places (looking at you Dinkeytown!).
Overall, it’s hard to critique much about this one. For the ease in which I read it and the enjoyment I got out of it, I’d give this one a ★★★★★ / 5 on both of my scales (see link in bio for explanation).
