The Boyfriend Project by Farrah Rochon

These days, my rating scale may as well be, "if a book can make me smile = all the stars." THANKFULLY this little beauty has much more going for it than simply making me smile, but it's a worthy quality (during these ridiculous times) that I just had to lead with.

THE BOYFRIEND PROJECT follows Samaiah Brooks, a bad ass tech developer who finds herself unexpectedly confronting a cheating boyfriend. What is also unexpected is the friendship she develops with the two other women victimized by that jerk. THE BOYFRIEND PROJECT is a conglomeration of Black joy, fierce female friendship, and the freedom of pursuing your goals. AND wrapped up in all of that is a sweet love story.

All in all, this is a delightful read that made a wonderful audiobook. MY only caveat is that the writing feels simplistic at times, but honestly that's such a minor note because it didn't diminish the impact of the story.

Would recommend if you are a fan of modern romance and strong female leads!!

SENSITIVITY WARNINGS: steamy steam AKA very detailed sexual content & language.

{Huge thanks to Libro.fm and Hachette Audio for the free ALC! Super grateful!}
