The Beauty in the Breaking by Michele Harper

Those of you who have been following me for a while know how much I love memoirs. There is just something about the human experience that is a beautiful thing to be explored, grieved with, celebrated for.

THE BEAUTY IN THE BREAKING is truly a memoir full of each of those things. I explored meaning and purpose with Michele, grieved with her over injustices, and celebrated the accomplishments of her and her patients.

If you are new to the genre, I highly recommend this one. Not only does she cover some interesting topics ranging from racism and sexism in medical practice to the power of emotional healing after a trauma, her writing is truly compulsive. If it weren't for the responsibilities of work and family, I could've easily finished this one in a single sitting.

Very much a read I will sit with for a while. Well done Michelle, well done.
