How to Walk Away by Katherine Center
SUMMARY: "Margaret Jacobsen has a bright future ahead of her: a fiancé she adores, her dream job, and the promise of a picture-perfect life just around the corner. Then, suddenly, on what should have been one of the happiest days of her life, everything she worked for is taken away in one tumultuous moment.
In the hospital and forced to face the possibility that nothing will ever be the same again, Margaret must figure out how to move forward on her own terms while facing long-held family secrets, devastating heartbreak, and the idea that love might find her in the last place she would ever expect." REVIEW: And joining the ranks (alongside queen Kristin Hannah) of feel-good-authors who have yet to do me wrong is Katherine Center!! This is my second book of Center's and ohhh man, I have one giant sigh of WELL-this-book-was-delightful-thank-you-very-much!!!
From start to finish, Center's hilarious cast of characters had me giggling and swooning over each rapidly turned page, literally eating up every dialogue and plot point. HOW TO WALK AWAY was a sweet, yet deeply real story as the entire narrative focuses around the physical and mental recuperation of Margaret post-traumatic injury. I really appreciated the way in which Center represented the process of healing, it was both gentle and honest.
If you love a romance that just simply makes you smile the whole way through, this is the book for you! A solid ★★★★★ from me for both the writing and all the feels!!
SENSITIVITY WARNINGS: traumatic injury, parental discord.
