SUMMARY
A sweet YA novel about sisterhood, loss, and love
REVIEW
A fellow book blogger nailed it when she called this sweet little book a “palate cleanser.” I wish I could adopt the Song Girls as my little sisters and love them forever.
Jenny Han did a fabulous job of portraying the high school experience without downplaying the maturity and wisdom that is possible for a 16-yr-old to learn. She characterized everyone so well and I really appreciate how Laura Jean was able to really own herself — her flaws and awkwardness, and her big big heart.
Overall, a "spot-on" narrative. Really impressed with Han's ability to craft a wholesome book while not losing the grit of the reality about the teenage years
