Literary Fiction following three female West Point grades — their time at West Point, their enduring friendship, and the hardships that ensue after graduating.
I thought this was just going to be an interesting narrative about the women of West Point... instead, I was gifted with a beautiful tale about the enduring love of friendship. Claire Gibson crafted a story that was so captivating, so real, and so raw. Not only did she uniquely weave together the story lines of three very different women, she also did so in a way that allowed Faith to be a central theme. Not cheesy Christianity — but real hard struggling to understand Christianity. The only kind that is real. So, thank you Claire Gibson for not shying away from the hard stuff. Thank you for crafting characters who are real and relatable — women I’d share a bottle of wine and the crosses of life with any day.
Overall, one of my favorite books of the year!
100% to anyone who loves a good character driven story that is both extremely real and beautifully classy.
